The Delta Tunnel project – also referred to as “California Waterfix” – would tunnel two pipes 40 feet in diameter for 35 miles under the Sacramento -San Joaquin Delta.   The California Department of Water Resources has released the final environmental documents for Waterfix.  After analyzing more than 18 Alternatives, Alternative 4A was chosen as the best option for water supply reliability.

California Governor Jerry Brown was quoted in a released statement, “This project has been subjected to 10 years of detailed analysis and more environmental review than any other project in the history of the world.”   Federal agencies were reportedly ordered to take timely action by the Obama administration.  The final decision for this project will be up to the incoming Trump administration.  We will update as more information becomes available.
