The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (aka Metro or LACMTA) plans to construct what is considered the largest infrastructure project in the nation. It will modernize the freeway including reconstruction of various interchanges stretching from the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles to the 60 freeway. Interchange reconstruction will take place along an 18-mile stretch of the 710 freeway through the cities of Carson, Long Beach, Compton, Paramount, Lynwood, South Gate, Cudahy, Bell Gardens, Bell, Maywood, Commerce, Vernon and East Los Angeles.
Currently, the project is reviewing its vision and goals timeline, as well as its outreach strategy.
